Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage AI software team building agents for customer lifecycle management. As a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with enterprise customers to bring agent solutions into production and turn field learnings into product improvements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work with customers to understand their onboarding, adoption, and renewal workflows, then identify where AI agents can create value.
• Configure and deploy agents using customer data sources and systems, including data warehouses, CRMs, SSO, and other integrations.
• Build evaluations with real customer data, assess agent quality, and improve performance before release.
• Partner with go-to-market teams to support account sales, activation, and expansion with technical expertise.
• Bring customer feedback into product development and improve the platform when it limits successful deployment.
• Debug production deployments, investigate root causes, and expand proven solutions into broader workflows.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Three to seven years of experience in customer-facing software engineering, forward deployed engineering, or solutions engineering.
• Experience owning technical customer deployments and building and launching LLM agents, including prompts, evaluations, and complex, long-running agent workflows.
• Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills, along with React frontend experience.
• Background in an early-stage or high-growth startup, with experience spanning customer-facing deployments and product development.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a track record of sustained contributions and growth.
• Experience with relevant tools and concepts such as PostgreSQL, RAG, BigQuery, CI/CD, and agent frameworks is valuable.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Hybrid in San Francisco, California.
