Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team building AI-powered tools for revenue operations. As a founding deployment engineer, you will connect enterprise data environments to production agent workflows and help turn customer business knowledge into reliable data models.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead customer onboarding from data access planning through exploration of undocumented warehouses and mapping schemas to business concepts such as churn, expansion, and recurring revenue.
• Interview customer stakeholders, resolve conflicting business definitions, and encode them in validated SQL queries and semantic models.
• Deploy platform workflows and agent pipelines in customer environments, then monitor their performance and business outcomes.
• Manage several customer engagements concurrently, balancing direct collaboration with customer teams and focused data engineering work.
• Use internal agent tools and share feedback on evaluation safeguards, validation frameworks, and agent infrastructure.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Two to five years of experience in forward-deployed engineering, data science, or customer-facing software engineering.
• Experience owning technical customer deployments end to end and independently shipping production code, data pipelines, or systems.
• Strong SQL and data warehouse skills, including the ability to investigate legacy or undocumented schemas and validate results.
• Working knowledge of Python, dbt, LLMs, AI agents, signal engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
• Data science or machine learning experience, or academic grounding in statistics, mathematics, applied mathematics, computer science, or another quantitative STEM field.
• Comfort with customer-facing work, detailed and repetitive data verification, and adapting technical recommendations based on evidence.
• Experience in an early-stage startup, consulting, or another resourceful environment is valuable.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary is $180,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

On-site, five days per week in New York, New York, United States.
