Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team building AI-powered tools for revenue operations. As a founding Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own technical customer deployments and turn complex business data into reliable workflows that support customer outcomes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead customer onboarding, scope data access, explore data warehouses, and map schemas to business concepts such as churn, expansion, and recurring revenue.
• Build and validate semantic models by working with stakeholders, resolving conflicting definitions, and encoding business logic in verified SQL.
• Deploy agent workflows and pipelines in customer environments, then monitor their performance and business impact.
• Manage multiple customer engagements, collaborating with customer data and engineering teams while doing hands-on data work.
• Use internal agent tools and share feedback to improve evaluation guardrails, validation frameworks, and agent infrastructure.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Two to five years of experience in forward deployed engineering, data science, or customer-facing software engineering.
• Experience owning technical customer deployments end to end and independently shipping production code, data pipelines, or systems.
• Strong SQL and data warehouse skills, including the ability to navigate undocumented schemas and validate results.
• Proficiency with relevant tools and concepts such as dbt, Python, LLMs, AI agents, signal engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
• Background in data science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, or applied mathematics, with strong quantitative and computer science fundamentals.
• Customer-facing experience, sound technical judgment, and comfort with detailed, iterative data verification in a startup or similarly hands-on environment.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $180,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

On-site, five days per week in New York, New York.
