Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team building AI-powered workflow software for industrial distributors. As a customer-facing engineer, you will take deployments from discovery through production and turn what you learn from customers into product improvements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Customize data ingestion for customer file formats, ERP systems, and workflows so distributors can get value quickly.
• Lead discovery conversations and customer site visits, translating operational needs into product features.
• Build and ship prototypes, internal tools, and customer-facing workflows, then strengthen solutions that prove useful.
• Develop AI agents and LLM-powered workflows to automate manual quoting and related tasks.
• Prepare and deliver product demos, participate in customer visits, and support pilots.
• Own technical customer relationships after launch, help customers realize value, and identify further opportunities to improve their workflows.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• One to five years of full-stack or backend engineering experience, including production software used by real users.
• Experience building with Python and TypeScript.
• A degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or another quantitative field.
• Experience presenting technical work to non-technical buyers and working directly with customers in a forward-deployed, solutions, sales engineering, or similar role.
• Use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and build an early-stage project from scratch; hardware, procurement, supply chain, ERP, or legacy system experience is helpful.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary is $150,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
