Founding AI Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team as its Founding AI Engineer, building the core of a real-time AI voice agent for sales. You will own the agent's technical direction and help make live, customer-facing product demonstrations reliable and effective.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build agent reasoning, tool use, memory, and recovery for calls that go off script, while meeting tight latency requirements.
• Develop evaluation pipelines and data workflows that turn real sales calls into measurable improvements, using fine-tuning where appropriate.
• Improve the reliability of browser automation so the agent can run live product demonstrations while speaking with prospects.
• Ship end-to-end product features in TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, and work with customers and design partners.
• Set technical direction for model and method selection, build-versus-buy decisions, and future agent capabilities.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Four to seven years of AI engineering experience, including hands-on ownership of AI agents shipped to production.
• At least one year working with real-time or voice AI systems, such as WebRTC, LiveKit, streaming, or other low-latency applications.
• Experience developing voice AI, browser automation agents, or other real-time applications, with proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
• Experience with production agent workflows, including evaluations, observability, and cost optimization; Playwright experience is relevant.
• A computer science degree or another technical background, with strong technical fundamentals.
• Experience in a startup or AI product environment, ideally building with customers or design partners. Sales technology or go-to-market tooling experience is helpful.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

On-site in New York, New York. Candidates must be based in New York or willing to relocate from day one.
