Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a customer-facing engineering team delivering AI-native software for state, local, and federal government clients. You will own technical projects from initial discovery through deployment and ongoing support, helping modernize systems that support public services.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work with government clients to understand their needs, design solutions, and deliver projects end to end.
• Build and iterate on software using AI coding tools as a regular part of your workflow.
• Create reusable components, data models, and workflows that support future deployments.
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, balancing client engagement with hands-on engineering.
• Travel occasionally to client sites to understand requirements and support delivery in person.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• One to five years of experience as a forward deployed engineer or customer-facing software engineer.
• Experience owning a technical deployment from initial build through customer adoption and post-deployment maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or similar.
• Strong full-stack engineering skills, including backend and frontend development, data modeling, and workflow design.
• Experience in software- or model-focused AI, an early-stage technology company, or public-sector and government-facing work is valuable.
• A technical degree or equivalent experience, with strong computer science or engineering fundamentals.
• Current U.S. work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary range: $170,000 to $220,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

LOCATION

On-site in New York, New York, five days per week, with occasional travel to client sites.
