The client is reimagining the call center with voice AI. Thousands of companies use Retell's AI voice agents for sales, support and logistics calls that once required large teams of human agents, and the company is building a modern CX platform where AI "workers" act as frontline agents, QA analysts and managers.

Backed by Y Combinator and Alt Capital, Retell has scaled to $80M ARR with a team of about 40, up from $5M at the start of 2025.

The Role

As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer you will deliver Retell's voice AI solutions to enterprise clients, embedding with their teams to build production-ready systems. You will bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders, drive adoption and shape the platform through customer insights.

What You Will Do

• Lead end-to-end delivery on Retell's voice agent platform, from prototype to production, communicating progress and risks clearly.
• Become a go-to expert on building voice AI solutions, especially LLM prompting.
• Build full-stack integrations (Python, JavaScript) with enterprise tools such as CRMs, ERPs and scheduling systems.
• Partner with sales to gather requirements, prototype demos and present system designs.
• Scope projects, resolve blockers and keep teams aligned.
• Codify reusable patterns into tools or platform components, and turn field feedback into product and GTM recommendations.

What You Bring

• Senior-level software engineering experience with customer-facing delivery
• Full-stack skills in Python and JavaScript (React, Node.js)
• Strong LLM prompting and integration skills
• Exceptional communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work in person in Redwood City 5 days a week
