Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure Infrastructure) Company: TouchSuite Department: Information Technology Location: Boca Raton, FL Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $120,000–$180,000 annually, commensurate with experience
About TouchSuite TouchSuite is a financial technology company providing payment processing and business technology solutions to merchants across a wide range of industries. Our technology infrastructure supports business-critical applications, financial operations, and integrations that enable us to serve our customers and partners. As we continue to enhance and modernize our technology environment, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on engineer to take a leading role in building and maintaining a secure, reliable, and scalable cloud platform.
About the Role TouchSuite is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure Infrastructure) to lead the architecture, automation, security, and operational reliability of our cloud environment. This is a high-impact individual contributor opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of technology, solving complex infrastructure challenges, and introducing improvements that make systems more reliable, secure, and efficient. You will serve as the primary technical owner of our Microsoft Azure environment, including Azure SQL, Azure Functions, App Services, identity management, and CI/CD pipelines. You will also support the integration of MuleSoft into our Azure infrastructure and oversee a limited AWS environment supporting legacy data retention. Working closely with application developers, IT leadership, and business stakeholders, you will have the autonomy to recommend architectural improvements, establish infrastructure standards, and modernize our cloud engineering practices. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on technical skills with independent judgment, a commitment to documentation, and a practical approach to problem-solving. If you're an experienced Azure engineer who thrives on technical ownership, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes pride in building reliable and secure systems, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Operations
- Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve TouchSuite's Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
- Manage Azure SQL databases, including performance optimization, backup and recovery, high availability, geo-redundancy, and access controls.
- Deploy, configure, and support Azure Function Apps and App Service Web Apps, including scaling, networking, deployment slots, and application configurations.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID integrations, role-based access controls, managed identities, and authentication services.
- Oversee Azure Key Vault, including secrets management, certificates, encryption keys, and certificate renewals.
- Implement proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive improvements.
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs through resource utilization analysis, right-sizing, and cost management recommendations.
DevOps Automation & CI/CD
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployments, configuration management, and routine operational tasks.
- Establish consistent deployment practices across development, testing, and production environments.
- Implement appropriate change management, approval workflows, release validation, and rollback procedures.
- Partner with application developers to improve deployment reliability, reduce manual processes, and accelerate delivery.
Enterprise Integrations & MuleSoft
- Lead the infrastructure and connectivity aspects of integrating MuleSoft Anypoint Platform with Azure-hosted applications and data sources.
- Establish secure connections between Azure services, Microsoft 365, internal business applications, and third-party platforms.
- Configure and support API authentication, OAuth flows, app registrations, certificates, and secure networking.
- Collaborate with development teams and integration stakeholders to improve system interoperability, reliability, and monitoring.
- Evaluate and recommend integration architecture improvements as business requirements evolve.
AWS Legacy Infrastructure
- Maintain and secure a limited AWS environment primarily supporting historical data retention.
- Manage access controls, storage configurations, lifecycle policies, and data protection requirements.
- Evaluate opportunities to reduce costs through archival storage, consolidation, or infrastructure optimization.
- Recommend a long-term strategy for retained data, including potential migration or decommissioning where appropriate.
Security, Compliance & Business Continuity
- Apply cloud security best practices, including least-privilege access, encryption, network segmentation, managed identities, and secure configuration.
- Monitor and address security recommendations through Microsoft Defender for Cloud and related security tools.
- Support PCI DSS compliance initiatives and other security requirements relevant to financial technology and payment processing.
- Maintain appropriate audit logs, infrastructure documentation, and evidence supporting internal and external reviews.
- Participate in vulnerability management, incident response, patch management, and risk remediation.
- Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures, including periodic recovery testing.
- Ensure production deployments, privileged access changes, and infrastructure modifications follow established authorization and change-control procedures.
Technical Ownership & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary technical resource and escalation point for cloud infrastructure operations.
- Independently evaluate infrastructure needs, identify risks, and recommend practical solutions.
- Maintain architecture diagrams, infrastructure inventories, operational runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to IT leadership and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal technology teams and external partners as needed.
- Provide occasional after-hours support for critical production incidents.
- Stay current with evolving cloud technologies, security practices, and infrastructure automation techniques.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of substantial hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Azure SQL, Azure Functions, App Service, Azure networking, Key Vault, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
- Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar scripting and automation tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, networking, and infrastructure protection.
- Experience supporting production cloud environments, including troubleshooting, monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery.
- Working familiarity with AWS services, particularly S3, IAM, and data retention or archival solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing technical demands, and take ownership of infrastructure from design through ongoing operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or comparable enterprise integration and API management platforms with Azure.
- Familiarity with PCI DSS, financial services, payment processing, or other regulated technology environments.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Graph API, Exchange Online, or SharePoint integrations.
- Experience with containerized applications and services, including Docker, Azure Container Apps, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Experience with cloud migrations, legacy infrastructure consolidation, or decommissioning projects.
- Familiarity with Azure cost optimization, capacity planning, and cloud financial management.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications, including AZ-104, AZ-400, or AZ-305, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
- Experience working in smaller or growing organizations where technical professionals assume broad responsibilities and influence infrastructure strategy.
Why Join TouchSuite? At TouchSuite, you'll have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the technology infrastructure supporting a growing financial technology business. Unlike positions where engineers are limited to maintaining a small portion of a larger platform, this role offers broad technical ownership, direct involvement in architectural decisions, and the ability to influence how cloud infrastructure is designed, secured, automated, and operated. You'll work across multiple technologies, collaborate directly with business and technology leadership, and help establish the infrastructure practices that support TouchSuite's continued growth.
