Original job description

The HR Analyst administers the people programs that keep managers consistent and give leadership a clear read on the workforce. This role owns the performance review cycle, our companywide engagement and employee life cycle surveys, employee relations intake, the termination review process, and the employee handbook and policy library, along with assigned UKG case and records administration.

The position requires sound judgment, strong written communication, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion while working both independently and collaboratively across departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performance Management

o Administer the full performance review cycle for corporate, support, and management populations, including timeline development, communications, and calendar management.

o Configure and maintain the cycle in UKG: templates, routing, reminders, and reporting.

o Track completion, escalate delays, and report status to HR leadership and functional leaders through cycle close.

  • Engagement Surveys

o Administer biannual companywide engagement surveys end to end: platform setup, population files, communications, and participation tracking.

o Support analysis of results by site, function, and tenure; prepare reports that highlight movement, outliers, and themes.

  • Employee Life Cycle Surveys – New Hire, Stay & Exit

o Own the new hire survey program (e.g., 30/60/90-day touchpoints); flag onboarding gaps and early attrition risk to recruiting and hiring managers.

o Administer stay surveys on a defined cadence; identify what keeps people and where engagement is eroding before it becomes turnover.

o Administer exit surveys for identified separations; follow up with interviews where the response warrants a closer look.

o Code and analyze responses across all three programs for recurring themes; report retention drivers and attrition patterns to leadership on a regular cadence, with recommendations tied to what the data actually shows.

  • Employee Relations

o Serve as a front line intake point for employee concerns, complaints, and hotline reports; triage for severity and route or escalate appropriately.

o Assist Manager with conducting fair, timely, and confidential investigations.

o Identify patterns across cases and flag systemic issues to HR leadership.

  • Terminations & Separations

o Review termination requests for adequate documentation, policy alignment, and legal risk before approval.

o Perform consistency checks against how comparable situations have been handled to reduce disparate treatment exposure.

o Prepare and process separation paperwork, final pay coordination with payroll, and required notices.

o Partner with managers to prepare for separation conversations and handle them professionally.

o Develop and maintain turnover reports, analyze workforce trends and patterns to identify potential retention risks and opportunities for improvement, and provide data-driven recommendations to support employee engagement and retention strategies.

  • Policy & Handbook

o Maintain the employee handbook and HR policy library: annual review, updates for regulatory change, version control, and acknowledgment tracking.

o Draft and revise policies in plain language; route through the appropriate review and approval path.

o Coach managers on progressive discipline, corrective action documentation, and performance improvement plans.

o Answer day-to-day policy interpretation questions from employees and managers.

  • UKG Administration

o Manage incident, wage withholdings, and case records in UKG: accurate entry, documentation attachment, status tracking, and reporting.

o Maintain data integrity across assigned UKG modules; build and run recurring reports for HR and leadership.

o Serve as a functional resource for managers and HR peers on assigned UKG workflows.
