SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

A paid summer internship at Toebe provides students with an exciting opportunity to work on some of Michigan's largest heavy civil construction projects. We take a hands-on approach to preparing students for an exciting career in our growing industry.

We are currently seeking Production Assistants for the 2027 Construction Season.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works with experienced project staff to track daily production of crews / manpower with Project Management Software (HCSS HeavyJob)
• Creates and implements work plans for specified tasks
• Closely follows project/crew schedules and updates the Project Manager & Superintendent of daily progress
• Tracks project quantities for payment
• Ensures employee/crew time has been added and coded correctly for each specified task
• Assists Project Managers and Superintendents in day-to-day activities
• Participates in progress meetings and visits job sites to review project status
• Assists with the development of best practices for Toebe planning and scheduling efforts

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently or recently enrolled in a Construction Management or Civil Engineering program
• Prior exposure to the construction industry (preferred)
• Good time management and communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Must have reliable transportation

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Works both in the field and office setting on a regular basis
• Requires the ability to sit or stand for an extended period of time
• Field work may include exposure to adverse weather, loud working conditions, and high levels of activity
