Original job description

TIAA is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to own the technology direction for the Meeting Efficiency and Quality platforms – the Salesforce-based experience that guides a participant and a consultant/advisor through the full advice journey: scheduling, pre-meeting preparation, the live meeting, and post-meeting follow-up. You will lead the engineering of the capabilities that power this journey, including the Salesforce Meeting Scheduler, the AI Meeting Prep Summary, the in-meeting Digital Assistant, and automated Conversation Capture.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will lead the integrations that connect the advice experience to communication platforms (Zoom and Genesys) and to TIAA’s core advice systems. You will be the senior technical point of contact across product, UX, and downstream engineering teams, and will mentor developers and admins delivering on the platform.

Who You Will Support

  • Consultants and Advisors in TRAC and Wealth Management – the primary users of the AI Meeting Prep Summary, Digital Assistant, and Conversation Capture capabilities during participant meetings.
  • Participants – who schedule and prepare for meetings through the MyTIAA Meeting Scheduler and receive post-meeting summaries.
  • TRAC and Wealth business leaders – who rely on consultant-availability intelligence and meeting-demand insights to manage capacity and forecast demand.
  • Product, UX, and Advice Technology partners – translating requirements (e.g., Digital Assistant data access and feedback mechanisms) into a scalable technical design.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Own the end-to-end technical architecture for the platform across the scheduling, pre-meeting, meeting, and post-meeting phases.
  • Lead the design and delivery of Salesforce capabilities – Meeting Scheduler, AI Meeting Prep Summary, Digital Assistant, and Conversation Capture – balancing out-of-the-box configuration with custom development.
  • Lead the integration strategy connecting Salesforce with communication tools (Zoom and Genesys) for meeting delivery, telephony, and conversation data, and with TIAA advice systems for participant, household, and portfolio data.
  • Define and govern the data model and integration patterns that let the Digital Assistant securely query participant data across objects and systems (including custom actions beyond OOTB relationship-level queries).
  • Set engineering standards for security, privacy, auditability, and compliance given the sensitivity of participant financial and advice data.
  • Partner with product and UX to shape requirements into technical plans, provide level-of-effort estimates, and recommend implementation options.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Salesforce developers, admins, and integration engineers; lead code review and solution design.
  • Drive the roadmap for AI/LLM-assisted features (meeting prep, in-meeting assistance, conversation summarization) and the feedback mechanisms that improve them over time.
  • Support the delivery of business intelligence that helps leaders monitor consultant capacity and meeting-demand trends.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across the Salesforce stack and its integrations, and lead continuous improvement of reliability and performance.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in a technical lead or lead-architect role delivering enterprise platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise with the Salesforce platform – configuration and custom development (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Experience Cloud), data modeling, and platform security/sharing model.
  • Experience leading enterprise integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, and middleware/ETL patterns.
  • Technical leadership experience: architecture ownership, estimation, solution design, code review, and mentoring of engineers and admins.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery with product and UX partners, and communicating technical options clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Relevant Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II, Application or System Architect, Salesforce Scheduler accredited professional).
  • Hands-on integration experience with communication/collaboration or contact-center platforms – specifically Zoom and/or Genesys (telephony, meetings, or conversation data).
  • Direct experience delivering the Salesforce Scheduler / Meeting Scheduler capability or equivalent.
  • Experience with Salesforce Agentforce or other AI/LLM-assisted capabilities, including agent-style assistants and conversation summarization.
  • Experience implementing or integrating a Digital Assistant / conversational AI that queries CRM data via custom actions beyond out-of-the-box capabilities.
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or retirement/advice platforms, and familiarity with the consultant/advisor workflow.
  • Experience with Genesys Cloud CX agentic capabilities and/or Zoom meeting and conversation APIs.
  • Strong grounding in security, data privacy, and compliance for sensitive customer/financial data, including auditable and governed data access.
