Original job description

At TIAA, great leadership is a core part of how we deliver for our clients and our business. As the Sr. Director, Leadership Development, you'll lead the strategy that builds that strength for our mid-level and emerging leaders. This role is for someone who loves to build, sees new and better ways of doing things, and wants to turn those ideas into enterprise-wide impact. You'll have room to innovate, a clear mandate to grow leader capability, and the chance to shape a stronger leadership pipeline for the future, while leading a team of three.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Shape and lead enterprise talent management strategies that deepen our leadership bench, accelerate readiness for critical roles, and set our workforce up for long-term success.
  • Architect a connected approach to leadership pipeline development, career coaching, curated professional development experiences, and leadership assessment, bringing fresh thinking to how leaders grow at TIAA.
  • Partner with senior People Team and business leaders to turn enterprise priorities into talent strategies that elevate leadership effectiveness, retention, associate performance, and organizational capability.
  • Design and bring to life leadership development experiences for mid-level and emerging leaders that connect directly to business strategy, leadership expectations, and talent priorities.
  • Guide and evolve enterprise leadership development programs, including manager readiness and professional development solutions, to build distinctive leader capability and a strong internal bench.
  • Own or support high-impact leadership forums, development program events, and cohort experiences that create alignment, connection, and accountability across the leaders you serve.
  • Put workforce insights, talent data, assessment outcomes, and business feedback to work to spot capability gaps, measure impact, and keep raising the bar on our talent strategies.
  • Define what success looks like and build the measures, dashboards, and reporting routines that show the impact of leadership development initiatives.
  • Bring the outside in by building relationships with external partners, consultants, and thought leaders who introduce innovative, research-backed practices to TIAA’s talent management and leadership development agenda.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team that delivers strategic learning experiences and leadership development resources with a client-focused, enterprise mindset.
  • Champion TIAA’s values and leadership expectations by weaving them into talent processes, leader development experiences, and organizational effectiveness strategies.
