Battery Technician (Overnight Shift)

Role Overview After our recent launch in New York City, Throne is looking for several full-time Battery Technicians to join our team, reporting to the NYC Technical Operations Manager. You will be responsible for performing routine and emergency battery swaps across our fleet of self-contained restroom units, located in all 5 boroughs, as well as picking up batteries at our charging facility in New Jersey. This role is scheduled on one of two overnight shifts: 6:00 pm - 2:30 am or 12:00 am - 8:30 am, with regular weekend rotations. New hires in this role start at $30.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, equity, and supplemental benefit rates that increase with tenure. Primary Responsibilities

Battery Swaps:

• Pick up charged batteries from our charging facility in New Jersey
• Drive a box truck safely from the charging facility to Throne locations to perform battery swaps
• Operate an electric pallet jack and lift gate to load and unload batteries at the charging facility and at Throne sites
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of repairs, replacements, and inspections
• Return depleted batteries to the charging facility and ensure they are connected and charging safely at the end of each shift

Teamwork with Technicians:

• Use your smartphone to navigate to sites, communicate with coworkers, and record work performed
• Clean restroom units, remove trash, restock supplies, as needed
• Alert the technical team to any observed issues or needed repairs
• Maintain fleet vehicles by keeping them clean and organized, flagging needed repairs for management

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in driving or delivery.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Some experience battery swapping is preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate issues as needed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work overnight and on weekends.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
• Can-do attitude and passion for Throne’s mission

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of testing procedures for electrical components, including voltage, continuity, and current tests.
• Experience driving a 26’ truck throughout NYC.
• Experience using a work order system.
