- Document, price, and obtain approval for scope changes before work proceeds when required.
- Lead technicians on active BAS service projects and maintain a visible, productive field presence.
- Perform or directly support installation, startup, programming coordination, graphics verification, network integration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and functional testing.
- Validate field conditions, installation quality, point operation, sequences, alarms, trends, graphics, and overall system performance.

- Confirm systems are ready for customer demonstration, turnover, and acceptance.
Field Leadership and Technician Development
- Coach technicians in planning, installation, startup, troubleshooting, networking, commissioning, documentation, and customer communication.
- Review field work, provide timely feedback, and correct issues before they become rework or customer concerns.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend focused training, field exposure, or escalation support.
- Develop technician independence while maintaining clear expectations for safety, quality, accountability, and documentation.
- Model professional field leadership and customer-facing behavior.
Customer Coordination and Project Closeout
- Serve as the primary customer contact during field execution and communicate progress, access needs, outages, risks, decisions, changes, testing activities, and upcoming impacts.
- Manage customer expectations and resolve concerns with documented follow-through.
- Coordinate customer demonstrations, operator orientation, acceptance, turnover, and warranty handoff.
- Maintain current project files, test evidence, backups, graphics archives, redlines, as-builts, action logs, and customer decisions.
- Deliver complete closeout packages, including applicable O&M information, warranties, functional test results, training records, and acceptance documentation.
- Complete financial and administrative closeout and communicate remaining warranty items, backlog, risks, and next actions to the appropriate service owner.
- Capture lessons learned and apply them to future work.
Job Walks, Scope Development, and Estimate Review
- Participate in customer job walks for BAS service projects, retrofits, upgrades, integrations, repairs, and modernization opportunities.
- Document existing conditions, system architecture, equipment, points, interfaces, access limitations, shutdown requirements, customer constraints, and field execution risks.
- Validate labor assumptions, technician skill requirements, material quantities, software and licensing needs, subcontractor requirements, startup and commissioning effort, travel, and schedule impacts.
- Support sales and estimating resources with technically executable scope development.
- Review assigned estimates for technical accuracy, constructability, labor realism, material completeness, margin risk, assumptions, exclusions, and customer dependencies.
- Identify scope gaps, unclear responsibilities, long-lead items, sequence risks, integration risks, and required clarifications before proposal release.
- Use actual project labor, cost, rework, and lessons learned to improve future estimating accuracy.
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrated experience delivering Building Automation System service, retrofit, upgrade, integration, repair, or modernization projects.
- Strong working knowledge of BAS field execution, including installation, startup, troubleshooting, networking, graphics, alarms, trends, sequences, commissioning, and functional testing.
- Ability to balance hands-on field leadership with disciplined project controls, financial awareness, documentation, and customer communication.
- Ability to read project scope and field documentation, assess existing conditions, identify execution risks, and develop practical work plans.
- Experience coordinating technicians, subcontractors, vendors, customers, site access, outages, and project turnover activities.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, mentoring, and follow-through skills.
- Commitment to safe work practices, quality, accountability, and dependable customer outcomes.
