We are seeking an experienced MECM Administrator / Systems Engineer to maintain and support our enterprise Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) platform. The primary responsibilities include maintaining the health and availability of the MECM environment, supporting Microsoft Defender configuration and policy management, and maintaining the Windows Server build and imaging process. MECM administration is the primary focus of the role today; however, the position will also support automation initiatives, platform migration activities, and other software deployment technologies as the team transitions to new solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the MECM/SCCM platform.
  • Manage MECM infrastructure, including site servers, Management Points, Distribution Points, boundaries, PXE, and OSD.
  • Maintain the Windows Server build process, including OSD task sequences, operating system images, and deployment content.
  • Perform Windows Server image servicing and patch slipstreaming using DISM/WIM technologies.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation for MECM administration, image maintenance, client remediation, health validation, and other operational activities.
  • Troubleshoot MECM client, policy, content-distribution, deployment, and infrastructure issues.
  • Support MECM upgrades, maintenance activities, and platform improvements.
  • Maintain technical documentation and follow enterprise change-management processes.
  • Support automation initiatives in addition to core MECM administration and operational work.
  • Participate in the migration from MECM to other platforms used to manage server builds, updates, and related deployment activities.
  • Help migrate existing MECM processes, functionality, and automation as the environment transitions to new platforms.
  • Support other software deployment applications and technologies as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise MECM infrastructure.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Defender/MDE configuration through MECM.
  • Experience with OSD, task sequences, PXE, and Windows Server imaging.
  • Knowledge of DISM, WIM servicing, and security-update slipstreaming.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, WSUS, PKI/certificates, IIS, SQL Server, and networking concepts related to MECM.
  • Strong scripting and coding proficiency, including PowerShell, with experience using Python and/or Java for automation or systems-engineering activities.

Preferred Skills

  • Windows Server administration experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server 2019, 2022, and/or 2025.
  • Experience developing reliable PowerShell automation with logging and error handling.
  • Experience managing MECM in a large enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of Ansible Playbooks.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to quickly learn, adopt, and support new technologies.
