What makes us different? One of our Founders is an engineer who has sat in the same seat as many of the professionals we now place. We understand the technical demands, the career challenges, and the opportunities because we’ve lived them. That’s why nearly every major player across the U.S. nuclear fleet trusts The Ottohahn Group as their go-to partner for hard-to-find, high-impact talent. We are seeking a Pipe Stress Analysis Engineer – Nuclear Power (Direct Hire, Remote)

We are partnered with a top nuclear industry leader to hire a Pipe Stress Analysis Engineer with direct nuclear power experience. This is a direct hire, in-house position offering full benefits, paid time off, and remote flexibility. In this role, you will gain exposure to work across the nuclear fleet in the U.S., supporting multiple utilities and a wide variety of PWR and BWR reactor types. This provides engineers with unique skillsets and technical depth that are highly valued across the nuclear industry. This position requires engineers who can operate with a high level of technical detail, precision, and autonomy while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory bodies. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work in a field where accuracy and safety are paramount.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles, techniques and practices in the preparation and/or review of engineering work products for existing power plants as well as new plants
  • Use of the Standard Design Process (SDP) to develop modification packages, P&ID's, isometric drawings, create pipe stress analysis models, prepare piping & engineering specifications in accordance with code requirements
  • Perform review of complex calculations, design deliverables, and lead small to medium projects or serve as technical lead on complex projects.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical design & pipe stress analysis experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical & nuclear codes, standards, and regulations that apply to the design of nuclear power plants (ME101, ASME, B31.1)
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Pipe Stress Analysis software and/or analysis techniques (AutoPIPE & SuperPipe)
  • Proven ability to deliver work with a high degree of accuracy, detail, and independence
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future

About the Benefits:

  • Direct hire, in-house position with a top nuclear energy company
  • Full compensation & benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and paid time off
  • Flexible remote options, with occasional site visits as needed (less than 5%).
  • Exposure to diverse projects across the U.S. nuclear fleet - gain experience supporting multiple utilities and working with both PWR and BWR reactor types
  • Opportunities for long term career growth in both technical specialization and leadership
