Computer Numerical Control Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for including but not limited to cutting components through accurate measurement and input into the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) computer; material handling including loading and unloading of material for equipment and for producing products at the highest quality, meeting production targets and working safely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read, understand basic blueprint and drawings.
• Must be able to use basic measuring tools including tape measures, digital and dial calipers.
• Operate machine and program cuts on machine to job order requirements.
• Properly match up cutter, bend mills and drill bits to be used on cutting head required per program requirements.
• Load and offload cutting table of scrap and finished parts.
• Maximize utilization of remnant material.
• Check quality of parts off machine including measurements, easements and defects.
• Keep work area clean and organized including sweeping and wiping machine down.
• Daily maintenance includes cleaning CNC cutting table of dust and debris left over after cutting process.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• HS Diploma or GED, Technical school not required
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read tape measure to the 1/32”
• 1-2 years manufacturing experience
• Ability to read blueprints and perform a flat layout
• Willingness to work as a team member and positive attitude
• Capable of repetitive lifting up to 50lbs
• Mechanically inclined
• Detail Oriented

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

1-2 years’ experience CNC wood production
