Assistant Teacher - Daycare & Preschool Location: The Learning Experience - Upper West Side, New York, NY Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience - Upper West Side is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support our childcare and preschool classrooms!

We're looking for someone who is caring, energetic, dependable, and excited to help children learn and grow. Whether you already have childcare experience or are looking to develop your skills, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.

What You'll Do

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
• Engage children through art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on learning
• Assist with The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
• Encourage positive social interactions, independence, and developmental growth
• Help with meals, diapering, toilet training, rest time, and classroom transitions as appropriate
• Supervise children and maintain a safe, nurturing environment
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
• Help maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and supplies
• Follow applicable NYC childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous professional childcare, daycare, or preschool experience preferred
• Early Childhood Education coursework or CDA is a plus
• Comfortable working with young children and supporting daily care routines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable, patient, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
• Must meet applicable NYC childcare staff requirements
