About Us

At The Just One Project, we're more than a nonprofit. We're a team of passionate people working together to make a meaningful difference in our community!

Our mission is to increase access to food, resources, and supportive services to build a stronger, healthier, and more connected community. We believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, and we're committed to creating an environment where both our clients and team members feel valued and supported.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others, building meaningful connections, and creating lasting change. If you're ready to turn your passion for helping people into a rewarding career, we'd love to meet you!

About the Role

Help veterans find more than housing. Help them find a place to call home!

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Veteran Housing Case Manager to join our BETterment team! In this role, you'll work directly with individuals experiencing homelessness, helping them navigate housing opportunities, overcome challenges, and take meaningful steps toward stability and independence.

You'll be more than a case manager. You'll be an advocate, a problem-solver, and a trusted source of support. Whether you're helping someone secure permanent housing, connect with essential resources, or celebrate a personal milestone, your work will make a lasting difference.

No two days are exactly alike! You'll build meaningful relationships, collaborate with community partners, and find creative solutions that help clients move toward brighter futures.

If you're passionate about helping others and want a career where your work truly matters, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

  • Build trusting relationships with clients and help them create personalized housing and stability goals
  • Assist with housing searches, applications, landlord communication, and securing permanent housing
  • Provide compassionate case management, assessments, referrals, and ongoing support
  • Connect clients with community resources, financial assistance, and essential supportive services
  • Help clients strengthen life skills, including budgeting, financial literacy, and independent living
  • Advocate for clients and provide guidance during challenging situations or crises
  • Collaborate with landlords, community partners, and internal teams to support successful housing outcomes
  • Monitor client progress, conduct monthly assessments, and complete home visits as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in HMIS, Salesforce, and other required systems, including entries within one business day of client contact
  • Participate in team meetings and trainings

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field required
  • 3+ years of nonprofit experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in case management, social services, or community outreach required
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, veterans, or vulnerable populations preferred
  • Knowledge of housing resources, community services, and client-centered support practices
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build trust, manage multiple clients, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation
  • A compassionate, team-oriented attitude and genuine passion for helping others build brighter futures
  • Experience with housing assistance programs, supportive housing, or wraparound services
  • Familiarity with SNAP benefits and community assistance programs
  • Certifications in case management, crisis intervention, or conflict resolution

Compensation and Benefits

We believe that taking care of our team is an important part of taking care of our community!

As a Full Time team member, you'll have access to:

  • Employer-paid base medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees.
  • Additional insurance options, including life insurance, AD&D, critical illness, accident insurance, short- and long-term disability, and pet insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a 3% employer match.
  • Paid Time Off
  • Seven floating holidays annually, subject to eligibility requirements.
  • Birthday Time Off
  • Bereavement pay
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Paid holidays in accordance with the BETterment holiday schedule.

Don't Meet Every Requirement? We'd Still Love to Hear From You!

We know that experience comes in many forms, and the right person brings more than qualifications on paper. If you're excited about our mission and believe your skills and experiences could make a difference, we encourage you to apply!

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, motor vehicle report, employment verification, and reference checks, as permitted by law.
