Security Guard

Position Summary: The overall duty of a Security Guard is to protect Salem Community Corporation’s residents, property, team members and visitors.

Essential Functions:

• Patrolling and monitoring activities on the premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
• Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over.
• Controlling the entrance and department of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols.
• Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management.
• Testing security systems and, if needed, operating metal detectors, etc.
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may interface with staff, residents and their family members . Will be responsible to operate the security vehicle in a safe manner. May be called upon to interact with unrecognized individuals on campus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position can be active and intermittently may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, some climbing. Must be able to operate and drive a security vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Security Guard experience preferred
• Good Driver’s Record
