Golf Maintenance Irrigation Tech

Summary The ideal candidate ensures all irrigation sprinklers, pipes and valves are in proper working order for golf course use. Make necessary repairs where needed. Constantly monitor and investigate golf course for areas where irrigation is not functioning properly.

Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Always check for daily work assignments with Supervisor.
• Hand water dry spots.
• Repair defective sprinklers.
• Clean around sprinkler heads, valve boxes, and drain basins to make sure grass does not encroach and cause damage.
• Repairs all leaks caused by damaged pipes, valves, or irrigation heads.
• Perform other tasks as described by management.
• Must be able to perform all job activities of Maintenance I, and Equipment Operator.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are returned to their designated areas.
• Checks out with supervisor before leaving scheduled or unscheduled shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors/managers.

Internal Relationships Reports to Golf Course Maintenance Employees, Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

External Relationships Has regular contact with Local irrigation contractor and vendor representatives.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Work weekends and holidays.
• Must be available to work overtime and be on-call 24 hours.
• Must be able to sit, stand, stoop or bend for duration of shift [at least eight (8) hours

Education/Experience Requirements

• One year experience with golf course irrigation or one year experience in landscaping irrigation.

Physical Requirements

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
