As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care and support in accordance with established care plans. Responsibilities - Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation. - Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that all aspects of care are met. - Provide medication reminders as needed. - Maintain accurate documentation of resident progress and any changes in condition. - Support mobility by assisting with heavy lifting and transfers when necessary. - Drive residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety during transport. - Uphold resident rights and dignity at all times, fostering a trusting relationship with those in your care. - Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Skills - Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. - Experience in direct support roles within childcare or senior care settings is preferred. - Ability to work with Individuals with developmental disabilities. - Strong understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles. - Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist residents with mobility challenges. - Effective communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members. - Candidates must possess First Aid/CPR - Article 9 - Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others. - Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of residents.
