School Nurse Substitute

The Texarkana Arkansas School District is seeking applicants for substitute school nurse. Substitute school nurse will work irregularly and infrequently, as needed. Applicants must pass a national criminal background check and a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Registry prior to beginning substitute employment.

Applicants must possess:

1. a working knowledge of community health education and practice, with a nursing license preferred;
2. the ability to follow oral and written instructions;
3. the ability to administer medications, first aid and health supplies;
4. a working knowledge of and the ability to use first aid and health equipment;
5. proof of training in CPR within the last twelve (12) months;
6. ability to perform all duties with caution; and
7. a patient and calm demeanor with students and staff.
