The successful candidate will take ownership of single-discipline and multidisciplinary engineering projects, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and provide technical recommendations to ensure control systems meet project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and client expectations. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with industrial automation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), motor controls, and instrumentation design, along with the ability to manage technical deliverables and support complex engineering projects from concept through construction.

Essential Job Functions:

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

  • Lead the design and engineering of instrumentation and control systems for advanced technology, semiconductor, and industrial manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Develop, review, and oversee engineering specifications, calculations, instrumentation datasheets, instrument indexes, input/output (I/O) lists, control narratives, sequences of operations, logic diagrams, and control system architecture drawings.
  • Design and specify industrial automation and control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), motor controls, industrial communication networks, and associated instrumentation.
  • Evaluate, select, and specify industrial instrumentation, including pressure, flow, level, temperature, analytical devices, manifold valves, and associated measurement and control equipment.
  • Develop and review PLC-based control panel designs in accordance with applicable UL 508A requirements, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Provide technical direction to engineering designers in preparing and reviewing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, instrumentation layouts, and construction documents.
  • Independently lead assigned I&C engineering projects, manage technical deliverables, prepare cost estimates, and coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to support successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process, and other engineering disciplines, as well as clients, contractors, and vendors, to ensure proper system integration and address technical challenges throughout project development.
  • Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and constructability. Support construction activities through technical submittal reviews, responses to requests for information (RFIs), and resolution of field-related engineering issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvements in design quality, technical standards, and project delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
