Position Summary:
The BIM Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the development, coordination, and delivery of Building Information Modeling (BIM) services across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering projects. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining project models, coordinating BIM workflows, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements, and project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs). Working closely with engineers, designers, project managers, and BIM leadership, the BIM Coordinator supports multidisciplinary collaboration, resolves technical modeling challenges, and performs quality control reviews to ensure accurate and consistent project deliverables. The position also contributes to the continuous improvement of BIM standards, procedures, and technology-driven workflows to enhance project efficiency, coordination, and overall design quality. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and cloud-based collaboration platforms, along with a solid understanding of BIM processes throughout the MEP project lifecycle. Success in this role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple project priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
- Set up, organize, and maintain Autodesk Revit models, including linked models, phasing, views, sheets, templates, filters, and other project-specific configurations, in accordance with company and client standards.
- Review and implement project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), incorporating Glumac's BIM scope and deliverable requirements while communicating client-specific requirements or deviations from company standards to project teams.
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and external stakeholders to support BIM workflows, resolve modeling issues, and meet project deliverables and milestones.
- Oversee Revit and AutoCAD plotting, printing, exporting, and document production activities while maintaining organized project folders, models, drawings, and supporting documentation.
- Perform quality control (QC) reviews of BIM models and project documentation to identify and resolve graphical inconsistencies, modeling errors, and compliance issues with established standards.
- Participate in internal and external BIM coordination meetings, team development activities, and technical training sessions to support project collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients, consultants, and other external stakeholders under the direction of the Project Engineer or Project Manager to address BIM coordination requirements and support successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with the BIM Manager to develop, refine, and implement BIM standards, procedures, templates, and best practices while supporting company-wide BIM initiatives and strategic improvement goals.
- Work with the Design Manager to develop, organize, and maintain model and document-sharing platforms that facilitate effective coordination and collaboration with subconsultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, with in-depth knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software.
- Demonstrated understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and workflows throughout the full lifecycle of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering projects.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, modeling requirements, and BIM-related issues to internal project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple assignments and project deliverables.
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Autodesk Forma and associated cloud-based model management and collaboration workflows.
- Ability to work on-site a minimum of two days per week in accordance with the company's required hybrid work schedule.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Information Modeling, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting BIM coordination and model management for multidisciplinary building engineering projects, particularly mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Experience developing, reviewing, or implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and coordinating project-specific BIM requirements.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks and model coordination workflows, including clash detection and interdisciplinary model reviews.
- Experience developing and maintaining Revit templates, families, view configurations, filters, and project standards.
- Experience managing shared project models, document control processes, and collaborative workflows within Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Familiarity with BIM quality control procedures, model auditing, and project deliverable standards.
- Experience supporting BIM process improvements, technical training, or the implementation of standardized modeling procedures across project teams.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
- Work is performed in a hybrid environment requiring a minimum of two days per week in a designated Tetra Tech or Glumac office, with the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.
- Daily responsibilities involve extensive computer-based work utilizing BIM software, digital modeling platforms, and electronic project documentation.
- Work requires sustained attention to detail, technical accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple modeling and documentation tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
