Mail Services Associate

SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Legislative Mail Room & Facilities Supervisor and the general direction of the Legislative Facilities Management Director, performs mail clerical duties of routine difficulty and performs related work as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Distributes mail to designated locations within the Legislature, which may include hand delivery to addressees. Learns proper mail destination which will require opening and reading mail.
• Learns to keep accurate record of incoming and outgoing mail which may include logging statistics, metering mail, and other mail services.
• Learns mail procedures as related to clearly printing bar codes, checking addresses, postage, date, sealing, and meter reading for pick-up, delivery, and further processing.
• Sorts incoming and outgoing mail by destination or established sorting scheme. Properly executes mail processing procedures to include receiving, sorting, and distributing of all incoming and outgoing mail.
• Provides customer service to employees with mail related questions.
• Loads mail into postal handling equipment, which may include tubs, trays, gurneys, and/or vehicles for pick-up or further processing.
• Operates mail processing equipment which may include weights, scanners, metering, and postage.

• Monday to Friday
• Overtime

SALARY RANGE: $44,868 to $66,684

Salary determined based on Education/Experience.
