Technician I - Structured Cabling

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure.The Communications Technician I is responsible for installing, routing, supporting, labeling, and terminating low-voltage cabling systems in commercial environments. Technicians will report to the Erlanger-area headquarters and travel to project sites located within approximately 20 minutes of the main location.

Responsibilities

• Install and support structured cabling systems in commercial facilities
• Route, label, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling
• Build and organize telecommunications closets
• Install racks, cabinets, patch panels, and cable management systems
• Perform fire stopping and maintain project safety standards
• Read and interpret blueprints and project drawings
• Complete project documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Travel between local project sites as needed

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 0-1 years of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or a related technical field
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Basic construction experience or mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work safely on active construction sites
• Willingness to travel locally between job sites
