Original job description
Position Summary: Technology for Energy Corporation (TEC) is seeking a motivated and technically curious Entry-Level Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, testing, and support of technical products used in the aviation industry.
This position provides an opportunity to work across multiple engineering disciplines while contributing to the development and support of complex technical systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced engineers and technical specialists to solve engineering problems, evaluate product performance, and support ongoing development projects.
As part of the onboarding and training process, the employee will participate in a structured cross-functional rotation through Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Sales/Technical Support. Each rotation will last approximately two months and provide hands-on experience with the products, processes, and technical responsibilities of each department.
Following the initial training period, the employee will continue in their Systems Engineering role, applying the knowledge gained across disciplines to support engineering projects and product development activities.
Essential Functions
The following duties are representative of the position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
Systems Engineering
- Supports the design, development, integration, testing, and validation of engineering products and systems
- Applies engineering principles to investigate technical problems, evaluate potential solutions, and support design decisions
- Collaborates with software, aerospace, hardware, and technical support personnel on multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Assists in defining, documenting, and verifying system-level requirements
- Supports engineering testing, troubleshooting, data collection, and analysis
- Participates in engineering design reviews, technical discussions, and project meetings
- Prepares and maintains engineering documentation, test procedures, reports, and other technical deliverables
- Conducts technical research and evaluate components, technologies, and engineering solutions
- Assists with hardware and software integration and system-level troubleshooting
- Supports the investigation and resolution of technical issues identified during product development, testing, or customer use
- Follows established company engineering, quality, and safety procedures
- Completes assigned projects and responsibilities while demonstrating initiative, accountability, and a willingness to learn
Initial Training and Development
As part of the initial onboarding and professional development, TEC provides structured exposure to several technical disciplines. The training process includes approximately two-month rotations in the following areas:
Software Engineering - Gain exposure to software development, testing, debugging, and integration activities related to TEC's engineering products and systems.
Aerospace Engineering - Develop an understanding of aviation systems, vibration analysis, rotor balancing, engineering analysis, and the practical application of TEC's products.
Hardware Engineering - Gain practical experience with electronic circuit design, embedded systems, sensors, hardware prototyping, testing, and hardware/software integration.
Sales and Technical Support - Develop an understanding of customer applications, product requirements, technical troubleshooting, and the relationship between engineering development and customer needs.
Throughout this training process, the employee will work alongside experienced personnel, participate in ongoing projects, and develop the technical knowledge necessary to contribute effectively as a Systems Engineer.
The rotation schedule and assignments may be adjusted based on training needs and business priorities.
