**Tool Crib Attendant ** ### Location: Macomb, MI 48042 Work Type: Direct Placement Work Arrangement: Onsite Work Schedule: Monday--Friday, 7:00 AM--5:00 PM, with potential half-day Saturdays for overtime Role Summary ### We're seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to manage tooling inventory and prepare cutting tools for CNC milling operations. This role involves setting up and inspecting tools, maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating tooling orders, and ensuring tools are ready for use on the shop floor. A background in machining and knowledge of CNC milling tools are important for success in this position. ### Responsibilities - ### Set up and assemble cutting tools, including end mills, drills, taps, holders, and angle heads, according to tool lists and instructions. - ### Use a Speroni tool presetting machine to check and set tools. - ### Inspect tooling and tool kits to ensure they are complete and in serviceable condition before issuing or returning them. - ### Perform daily preventive maintenance checks on tool-setting equipment. - ### Disassemble tooling and make adjustments or updates to tool lists as needed. - ### Distribute tooling to the shop floor and coordinate the staging and shipment of tools for regrinding. - ### Maintain tooling inventory, descriptions, bin locations, and records in the MX system. - ### Receive tooling orders, add new items to inventory, and track tooling availability against job forecasts. - ### Review tooling sheets and minimum/maximum inventory reports and update records as needed. - ### Document kitted tooling in Excel and prepare labels for new or replacement items. - ### Conduct weekly cycle counts and keep the tool crib clean, organized, and properly stocked. ### Qualifications - ### High school diploma or equivalent. - ### 2--5 years of experience in CNC mill setup and operation. - ### Knowledge of setup requirements and operation of horizontal and vertical CNC milling equipment. - ### Ability to read and interpret blueprints, setup documents, and CAD drawings. - ### Familiarity with Fanuc controls. - ### Computer skills sufficient to create, operate, and maintain computerized information. - ### Strong knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, and related components. - ### Good verbal communication skills and willingness to take on additional projects and responsibilities. ### Preferred Qualifications - ### A hands-on machinist background, particularly with CNC milling. - ### Familiarity with tool presetting, tooling inventory systems, and lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
