At Team Housing Solutions, we deliver exceptional temporary lodging services to organizations deploying teams across the United States and globally. We build flexible, on-demand housing solutions by partnering with property owners, asset managers, and third-party providers, driving cost efficiency and operational agility for our clients.

Our mission is to provide superior temporary lodging experiences through streamlined systems, impeccable service, and a collaborative spirit that values our dedicated team, supply partners, and clients alike.

About the Role

The Safety Manager leads and administers the safety program across Team Housing Solutions operations. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the role establishes program expectations, maintains company and site safety systems, oversees all Site Safety Representatives, and provides technical and operational guidance to site leadership. The Safety Manager coordinates training, audits, incident and corrective-action processes, performance reporting, and continuous improvement to promote consistent implementation of approved safety requirements across THS locations.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Leadership and Administration

  • Develop, maintain, and improve THS safety plans, procedures, inspection schedules, reporting methods, and recordkeeping requirements in coordination with Operations and other responsible functions.
  • Establish annual and site-specific safety priorities, calendars, and implementation expectations; communicate requirements to Site Directors, supervisors, and Site Safety Representatives.
  • Monitor implementation across assigned operations and elevate significant gaps, resource constraints, or unresolved risks to the Vice President of Operations.

Site Safety Representative Oversight

  • Provide direct supervision, work direction, coaching, and performance feedback for all Site Safety Representatives, coordinating daily priorities with Site Directors.
  • Define field coverage, inspection expectations, reporting cadence, training assignments, and escalation protocols for Site Safety Representatives.
  • Review Site Safety Representative reports and work products for accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and appropriate follow-through; address recurring performance or coverage gaps in coordination with Human Resources and Operations.
  • Coordinate staffing, onboarding, leave coverage, and development plans for Site Safety Representatives within approved organizational and budget parameters.

Hazard Assessment, Inspections, and Audits

  • Develop and oversee risk-based site inspection and audit programs; conduct or assign field reviews and validate that significant findings are addressed.
  • Guide supervisors and Site Safety Representatives in job safety analyses and pre-task planning, emphasizing elimination, substitution, and engineering controls before administrative controls and PPE.
  • Lead internal safety audits and coordinate customer, corporate, or other authorized reviews; track findings through verified closure or formal escalation.

Training and Safety Communication

  • Establish training requirements and coordinate new-hire safety orientation, toolbox talks, refresher training, and assignment-specific instruction using approved materials and qualified instructors.
  • Monitor training completion and qualification records and ensure missing, expired, or unverified requirements are elevated before affected work is assigned.
  • Issue routine safety communications, lessons learned, and targeted guidance based on incident trends, field observations, audit findings, and operational changes.

Incident and Corrective-Action Management

  • Ensure prompt internal notification and appropriate escalation of injuries, near misses, property damage, and significant unsafe conditions in accordance with approved reporting procedures.
  • Lead or coordinate factual incident reviews within assigned authority and engage qualified, regulatory, legal, Human Resources, or other resources when required.
  • Maintain oversight of the corrective-action system, including owners, due dates, risk priority, status, and evidence of completion; escalate overdue or ineffective actions to responsible operational leaders and the Vice President of Operations.

Safety Performance, Records, and Executive Reporting

  • Define and monitor approved safety indicators, including inspections, training completion, incidents, near misses, open corrective actions, and other KPIs; validate source data and reporting consistency.
  • Provide routine safety performance reports to the Vice President of Operations and site leadership, highlighting significant risks, trends, overdue actions, resource needs, and recommended priorities.
  • Ensure safety records, chemical inventories, safety data sheets, inspection files, and other assigned documentation are maintained in approved systems with appropriate access and retention controls.

Emergency Preparedness and Operational Coordination

  • Oversee site emergency-preparedness documentation, evacuation information, assembly locations, response supplies, drills, and readiness follow-up in coordination with site leadership.
  • Integrate safety requirements into contractor coordination, mobilization planning, equipment or process changes, and other operational activities.
  • Stop or interrupt work presenting immediate danger in accordance with THS procedures and ensure restart occurs only after required controls are verified and authorized.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible safety or operational experience, including safety program administration, inspections, training, incident review, audits, and corrective-action management.
  • At least two years of supervisory, team-lead, or multi-site coordination experience with responsibility for assigning work, reviewing performance, and ensuring follow-through.
  • Working knowledge of hazard recognition, job safety analysis, incident reporting, OSHA practices relevant to assigned operations, and practical safety management systems.
  • Ability to analyze safety data, communicate risk and priorities to executives and field leaders, maintain accurate records, and manage corrective actions through verification and escalation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety tracking or reporting tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to assigned operational sites and support irregular hours or emergency activities as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, emergency management, operations, or a related field.
  • OSHA 30-hour Outreach training and current First Aid/CPR credentials.
  • Professional safety certification or progression toward a recognized credential such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or OHST.
