Position Overview The Superintendent is L2’s field leader and primary point of contact on the jobsite, accountable for safe, high-quality, on-schedule execution of assigned projects from mobilization through punch list and closeout. This role directs daily field operations, coordinates trade partners, maintains short-term schedules and site logistics, leads quality and safety execution, and communicates field conditions that affect scope, cost, staffing, or schedule. The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and project team to ensure work is properly sequenced, documented, and delivered in accordance with contract documents and L2 standards.
Key Responsibilities

- Create and maintain the three-week lookahead; identify schedule risks early and communicate recovery needs or constraints to the Project Manager and project team.
- Lead project safety execution in the field. Enforce L2 safety requirements, conduct required toolbox talks, address unsafe conditions, and ensure incident documentation is completed promptly.
- Lead field quality control. Verify work against plans, specifications, approved submittals, codes, and L2 standards; coordinate inspections and correct deficiencies before work is concealed or advanced.
- Coordinate and document field changes. Identify potential scope conflicts or changes, communicate impacts, and obtain Project Manager approval before directing out-of-scope work.
- Maintain awareness of field-driven cost impacts, material usage, staffing, and productivity; communicate conditions that may affect project cost or forecast.
- Maintain current stamped drawings, as-builts, RFIs, submittals, permits, inspection records, daily reports, and other required field documentation in Procore or the designated project system.
- Lead and participate in project kickoff, progress, coordination, and owner/trade partner meetings as appropriate; provide clear updates on progress, constraints, staffing, safety, and quality.
- Supervise, coach, and develop assigned field staff. Set clear expectations, monitor performance and workmanship, and provide input on staffing and resource needs.
- Coordinate trade partner punch lists and remain accountable for punch list completion; support final cost reconciliation, turnover, and warranty activities as requested.
Project Team Collaboration The Superintendent is the field owner for execution while partnering closely with the Project Manager and other project leaders.
- Preconstruction: Provide field input on pursuit strategy, estimating/budgeting, ICRA requirements, logistics, and schedule planning when consulted.
- Project Setup: Participate in kickoff and lead onsite mobilization and field implementation.
- Construction: Accountable for daily field execution, safety, and quality; responsible for field change management and field-related cost/material tracking; consulted on pay applications.
- Monitoring & Control: Provide input on labor allocation and WIP/cost forecasting based on field conditions and production.
- Closeout: Accountable for punch list completion and consulted on final cost reconciliation and project turnover.
