"Help Power Extraordinary Experiences

At TAIT, we don't just build equipment, we create the technology behind some of the world's most exciting live experiences. From concert tours and live entertainment productions to permanent installations and immersive environments, our teams bring bold ideas to life through innovative engineering and world-class execution.

We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who is excited to apply their technical expertise while growing alongside industry-leading engineers and designers. This is an opportunity to work on unique projects that blend creativity, automation, motion control, and advanced electrical systems in ways few engineering careers can offer.

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing the electrical systems that power our equipment and installations. Working closely with multidisciplinary project teams, you'll contribute to projects from concept through commissioning, helping transform ambitious ideas into reliable, high-performance solutions used around the world.

Whether you're passionate about electrical design engineering applied to controls and automation, or emerging technologies, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact while continuing to develop your skills and technical expertise.

What You'll Do

As part of our Electrical Engineering team, you will:

  • Design innovative electrical systems for controls and automation that exceed client expectations while delivering exceptional value for both portable and permanent installations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and technical leaders to perform electrical load analysis, component selection, system design architecture development, and electrical systems functional safety reviews.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and fabrication packages that support manufacturing and installation.
  • Research, evaluate, and specify electrical components from leading industry manufacturers to support new product development and project execution.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize existing electrical designs, reduce manufacturing costs, improve efficiency, and enhance overall system performance.
  • Develop bills of materials and work closely with procurement teams and external vendors to support project delivery.
  • Contribute to client deliverables, including technical documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and final submittal packages.
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies in electrical engineering that help TAIT continue delivering industry-leading controls and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, controls, fabrication, and project management to solve complex electrical engineering challenges.
  • Champion safety, quality, and engineering excellence throughout every phase of a project.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Work on projects unlike anything else in the industry. Your electrical designs will help power world-class entertainment experiences, innovative automation systems, and custom-engineered solutions seen by audiences around the globe.
  • Grow your technical expertise. You'll work alongside experienced engineers who are passionate about mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Use cutting-edge technology. Gain exposure to advanced controls, PLCs, motion systems, automation platforms, and emerging technologies while applying electrical design engineering.
  • See your work come to life. Experience the satisfaction of contributing to projects from initial design through manufacturing, installation, and operation.
  • Be part of an innovative culture. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and continuous improvement in everything we do.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical Theatre with an emphasis in Electrical Design for PLC controls and Motor controls.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, electrical design applied to control systems, or a related technical field.

  • EPLAN experience
  • Strong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with UL508A, NEC, NFPA and IEEE standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical design engineering applied to industrial control systems, including PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Experience with designing Beckhoff automation technologies.
  • Experience with designing Siemens control platforms.
  • Experience with designing control panels, motor control panels, automation systems, or entertainment technology applications.
