This role is well suited to a consultative sales professional who can develop a healthy pipeline and coordinate effectively with technical and operational teams.

This is a hybrid role, which includes a mix of remote and onsite work at our Portland, Maine office, as well as onsite client engagements that require occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new client opportunities and revenue through targeted outreach, networking, referrals, and strategic engagement.
  • Research prospective accounts to identify key decision-makers, business priorities, technology needs, and potential areas of risk.
  • Manage sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders and varied decision timelines.
  • Lead discovery conversations to understand client goals, IT budgets, operational needs, and risk profiles.
  • Develop and present proposals, business cases, and ROI analyses with support from technical and finance partners.
  • Maintain an accurate, well-managed, and forecastable pipeline using HubSpot CRM.
  • Partner with technical, onboarding, and finance teams to develop solutions that align with client needs and company objectives.
  • Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to expand services.
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure appropriate internal alignment on scope, risk, and profitability.
  • Represent Systems Engineering at business, technology, and community events.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that improve the client experience and support service innovation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within IT services, managed services, cybersecurity, or a related technology field.
  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships and closing consultative, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or IT operations.
  • Ability to learn and communicate the business value of technical services and solutions.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory requirements, or cybersecurity insurance trends is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and CRM tools; experience with HubSpot is preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience developing proposals and discussing return on investment.
  • Ability to work independently, organize priorities, and manage a territory and pipeline.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Meet hybrid work requirements, including the ability to work onsite at our Portland, Maine office and travel occasionally for onsite client engagements. Reliable transportation is required.
