Position Overview:

This is a non-licensed position designed to provide assistance to the Clinical Laboratory Scientist by performing certain procedures in the laboratory within limits specified by California Law. The duties include but not limited to: receiving and processing specimens, preparing sendouts, setting up microbiology cultures, performing instrument maintenance, and operating analyzers under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist. The Clinical Lab Technician must be able to perform EKG and phlebotomy (at least CPT I certified).

Job Description:

EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Associate's: AA degree in science

Bachelor's: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or biochemistry

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

CPTI-Certified Phlebotomy Technician I

CPTII-Certified Phlebotomy Technician II

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Two years of working experience in a clinical laboratory or a commercial laboratory, including 6-month experience as a certified phlebotomist (CPT I).

Prior working experience as a laboratory technician.

Pay Range is $39.04 to $48.73 / hour The posted pay range is based on the position's primary work location. Candidates who reside and work outside of that location may be subject to a different pay range based on their work location. Candidate starting salaries consider multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
