About the Role SUSCO, LLC is expanding our telecom construction crews and is seeking experienced Driller/Locator Operators to support broadband installation projects across the region. This role is essential in helping deliver high-speed internet to underserved communities through Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Reconnect/RDOF builds. The Driller/Locator will operate directional drilling rigs, locating systems, and support equipment for telecom infrastructure projects, working alongside professional crews using high-quality equipment, including Subsite Marksman & F2+ locating systems and Ditch Witch, Vermeer, and Universal drilling rigs.

Key Responsibilities

• - Operate directional drilling rigs, locating equipment, mini-excavators, mud pumps, and mud-mixing systems.
• - Perform horizontal directional drilling (HDD) while following strict safety guidelines.
• - Dig trenches/holes and support all required site preparation activities.
• - Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on drilling equipment.
• - Collaborate with crew members to plan and execute daily drilling operations.
• - Maintain full compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies.
• - Monitor bore paths, adjust techniques, and ensure accurate drill shots.

Required Skills & Experience

• - Minimum 2 years of experience in directional drilling or locating (required).
• - Proficient in operating small HDD rigs (25-ton and smaller).
• - Strong mechanical skills for diagnosing and repairing equipment issues.
• - Ability to work outdoors on active construction sites.
• - Strong communication, teamwork, and situational awareness.
• - Familiarity with OSHA and general construction safety procedures.
• - Valid driver's license (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• - Experience with FTTH and RDOF projects (preferred, not required).
