Stepdown Registered Nurse - Salem, Virginia

Key Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Proven experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Proficiency in managing advanced medical equipment and monitoring vital signs
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care, monitoring patients progress and responding quickly to changes in status
• Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and update patient care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on post-acute care, recovery processes, and preventative measures
• Accurately document observations, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records
