Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Elgin, Illinois

Key Qualifications:

• Current licensure in accordance with state and discipline requirements for Sign Language Interpreters
• Compliance with district or state-specific credentials (such as PEL or Para certification, or any specific experience as requested by the director)
• Demonstrated skill in sign language interpretation, preferably in a school environment
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, faculty, and families

Role Overview:

• Deliver in-person sign language interpretation for students from 08/19/26 through 05/21/27
• Work full-time hours each week in a dynamic school setting
• Accurately interpret classroom instruction, school activities, and discussions, adapting the service to various learning and communication needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Support students educational experience by ensuring they have clear and equal access to the curriculum
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to best address the needs of individuals receiving interpretation services
