Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Biloxi, Mississippi

As the sole interpreter at a local middle school, your impact will be felt every dayenabling effective communication, fostering confidence, and helping this student thrive both socially and academically.

Essential Qualifications:

• Certification: EIPA score of 3.0 or higher, or RID credential required
• MS ODHH credential required
• Strong fluency in ASL and experience interpreting in educational environments
• Previous experience working with middle school students (preferred)
• Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and family on a 1:1 assignment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 interpreting services for a student in all classroom and school activities
• Foster clear communication between student and teachers, peers, and staff
• Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Adapt interpreting style to suit the learning environment and individual needs
• Participate actively in the students educational planning and support team

Position Highlights:

• Contract runs from early November through May 21st
• Approximately 35 hours per week, standard school day hours
• Only one school assignmentmiddle school, with one student focus
