Original job description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) seeking a rewarding contract position supporting students ranging from 4th grade through age 22. Located near Sarasota, FL, this role focuses on delivering direct and consultative speech services at a specialized education center. The position covers 17.5 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options such as three six-hour days, four four-hour days, or five three-and-a-half-hour days, to best fit your lifestyle.

What You'll Need:

  • Active Florida SLP license required
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly valued
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Compassion for students with diverse and complex needs
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible, part-time schedule (with potential for full-time allocation)
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy to approximately 24 students
  • Offer consultative support for an additional 12 students
  • Collaborate with classroom aides, behavior specialists, and supportive administrators
  • Utilize a dedicated therapy space within a well-resourced school environment
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing support provided by experienced SLP colleagues
  • Potential to expand to a full-time schedule with additional school assignments, depending on candidate preference

As part of this contract role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on a small caseload, receive support from a welcoming team, and work in classrooms with low student-to-adult ratios. You will not be responsible for case management, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality therapy services.

If you are passionate about empowering students and thrive in an encouraging, student-centered school setting, this could be the perfect next step for your career. Apply today to begin making a difference in these students' lives!
