School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Edison, New Jersey

Make a difference in school communities near Edison, NJ, by supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) on a contract basis. Two unique assignments are available with the potential for extension or combination for the full academic year due to anticipated additional leaves in the spring.

One SLP with ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is needed to supervise onsite. Pediatric and special education school setting experience is essential.

Opportunities available:

• Assignment A: 3-4 week coverage (start as soon as possible), managing a caseload of 53 K-4 students, including ESLS and students in ICR classrooms, across multiple nearby elementary sites.
• Assignment B: 12-16 week coverage, start late October, specific caseload details will be shared during the interview, single school site.

Required qualifications and background:

• SLP-CCC, licensed and eligible to practice in New Jersey
• Previous experience in school-based services
• Skilled in IEP planning, participation, and documentation
• Proficient with AAC devices and inputting data into school systems
• Strong communication, collaboration, and supervisory skills
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a school-based team

Typical duties include:

• Evaluation and treatment of students with communication disorders
• Providing direct therapy and support for K-4 students
• Consulting with educators and families on IEP goals and progress
• Utilizing AAC technology and adapting therapy as needed
• Supervising onsite SLP work
