Grades 6 - 8 Certified School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Norfolk, Virginia

Key Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current SLP certification and applicable state licensure
• Experience working with children in Pre-School, Kindergarten, Early Childhood, and K-12 settings
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills for varied age groups and communication disorders
• Excellent collaboration abilities to work with educators, families, and other support staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct screenings, comprehensive evaluations, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver direct therapy to students in individual and group formats across multiple grade levels, from Pre-K through high school
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to promote student success and carry over strategies
• Document all assessment data, session notes, and progress reports in accordance with district requirements
• Engage in family and caregiver communication, supporting ongoing student growth beyond the classroom
• Stay up to date on best practices and new therapies within the field
