Classroom Assistant | Winnetka, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact in the school community as a dedicated paraprofessional in a supportive elementary and middle school environment. This full-time contract opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year, scheduled Monday through Friday for 35 hours per week. Youll foster positive educational experiences by assisting both in classroom management and one-on-one with students, including learners who require specialized care or behavioral support.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Illinois Para certification is required
• Prior experience supporting elementary-aged students, especially those with challenging behaviors, is highly valued
• Familiarity with diabetic care for students is beneficial
• Preference for candidates with toileting assistance experience
• Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced classroom setting

Responsibilities:

• Partner with classroom teachers to support instructional activities
• Deliver individualized assistance to assigned students, ensuring academic and emotional needs are met
• Provide support during classroom activities, transitions, and learning sessions
• Offer direct care including toileting support, as required
• Help maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive environment for all students
