Original job description
Bring your passion for supporting students and make a meaningful difference as a paraprofessional in a school-based environment. Three contract positions are currently open, offering the opportunity to work one-on-one or with small groups of elementary and middle school students requiring additional assistance for success in their academic journeys.
Full-time opportunities (31.25 hours/week) include direct daily support for an 11-year-old student at a middle school who is on the autism spectrum. Youll serve as a critical partner in helping this student transfer valuable skills across school settings, collaborating closely with educators and specialists. A part-time role (3 hours/day) involves assisting two elementary students, providing instructional support and helping implement their behavioral plans under the guidance of the special education team. Both roles are ideal for candidates committed to empowering diverse learners.
Desired Qualifications:
- Meet Washington States minimum requirements for paraeducators
- Direct experience working with students with autism (strongly preferred for full-time role)
- Familiarity with behavioral plans or intervention strategies
- Training in isolation/restraint techniques is a plus (or willingness to receive training)
- Patience, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 or small group support based on student needs
- Implement prompts and reinforce generalization of skills
- Assist in executing instructional and behavioral plans
- Provide consistent encouragement and guidance to students
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation of services and observations
Enjoy a supportive environment with flexible interview options, including Zoom or on-site meetings. Take advantage of training provided and the possibility of extending your contract into the following school year.
Ready to make a difference in students lives? Apply today and help shape a supportive, inclusive learning experience!
