Classroom Aide | Berkeley, California

Support students in a vibrant educational setting as a paraprofessional on a contract basis. Working closely with dedicated educators, you'll play a key role in helping students reach their potential, both academically and socially, while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience working in a school environment or with children is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive approach to problem-solving
• Ability to follow instructions from lead teachers and support individualized student needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or related field is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students under the direction of teaching staff, including assisting with lessons and classroom activities
• Reinforce learning concepts and ensure students are staying on track, both one-on-one and in small groups
• Aid in the implementation of behavior plans and individualized education programs (IEPs) as instructed
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Support students with daily tasks, mobility, and personal care if needed
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing staff development
