About Stylus Medicine:

Stylus Medicine is developing transformative in vivo genetic medicines to unlock cures. Stylus combines engineered recombinases with non-viral delivery to specifically encode therapeutics. The company’s approach is versatile and modular, with potential therapeutic application across oncology, autoimmune, genetic diseases, and beyond.

About the Role:

Stylus Medicine is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join our Genome Sciences & Engineering team. In this role, the Senior Research Associate will drive the execution of cell-based assays and high-throughput screening workflows to advance the company’s LSR-based genome editing platforms. This role is ideal for a collaborative, organized, and creative scientist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys tackling complex problems to expand the frontiers of genome editing.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Execute cell-based assays and high-throughput (HT) screening workflows that advance platform and program objectives, working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Develop and execute arrayed and pooled HT screening campaigns with rigor and reproducibility
  • Troubleshoot experiments, analyze data, and translate results into actionable scientific insights
  • Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and clearly communicate data and findings to the broader scientific team
  • Partner cross-functionally to advance optimized candidates into translational and preclinical development

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BS with 3+ years or MS with 1+ years relevant experience in cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field
  • Experience conducting high-throughput cell-based screens; proficiency with primary T cells, hepatocytes, and/or cancer cell lines, working with LNPs preferred
  • Hands-on experience with gene editing technologies (e.g. CRISPR nucleases, recombinases, base editors, or transcriptional effectors)
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation platforms for cell-based screening workflows, flow cytometry
  • Experience with nucleic acid QC methods, including TapeStation, Qubit, NanoDrop, and qPCR
  • Track record of independently generating precise, reproducible data and performing rigorous quantitative analysis
  • Clear and approachable communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional organizational skills and comfort managing complex datasets and overlapping projects
  • Strategic thinker who effectively plans and prioritizes to maximize scientific impact
  • Collaborative mindset with a team-first attitude
  • Creative problem-solver who thrives amid scientific uncertainty

Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000
