Social Worker

Position Summary Under direction provides professional social services to a variety of children, adult and family clients. Provide ongoing case management services in the areas of Developmental Disabilities and MN Choices. Perform intake responsibilities on a rotating basis. Required to participate in an informal on-call system. Remote work possible after one year of service and an approved application. Service requirement may be waived depending on years of experience in DD and MN Choice areas.Knowledge Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate with the public, vulnerable adults, disabled children, other county employees, law enforcement and school personnel, medical and mental health professionals, attorneys, court and various other service providers. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze complex situations and implement appropriate responses. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Minimum Credentials Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.

CREDENTIALS: Must be Merit System eligible. Must have a valid driver’s license. Personal Computer Competencies Word processing and spreadsheet competency required. Willingness to learn additional software as needed for the position is required.
