Line Inspector

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and productive work environment
• Use shop orders to inspect joists to ensure they meet the requirements of the NMBS Quality Control Manual
• Communicate quality issues to members of the line and supervisors
• Participate in all safety related activities and continuing education as required
• Report non-conformance trends to QC supervisor as well as line supervisor
• Document quality issues
• Perform minor repairs on the line

Qualifications

Required:

• Good communication and responsiveness with a positive, forward thinking attitude
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to weld, use an air arc and various measuring tools
• Knowledge of NMBS inspection criteria
• Know how to read shop orders and navigate the NMBS Quality Control Manual
• Ability to keep quality records in a fast paced environment

Preferred:

• Knowledge of how all areas of the production line work
• Strong leadership skills
