Overview

The EOSDIS Evolution and Development (EED) program supports NASA's Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS) in enabling global, open access to critical Earth observation data. As part of its growing EED support team, STC is seeking a Product Owner to lead the Consolidated Cumulus User Experience (Dashboard) team.

The Consolidated Cumulus UX Product Owner (PO) is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and operational health of the Cumulus Dashboard and its underlying infrastructure. The UX PO bridges specialized train leads and a multidisciplinary implementation team, ensuring that architectural visions are translated into secure, compliant, and high-performing production code serving the Dashboard user community. The UX PO reports to the I&A Product Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure team roadmaps support the I&A train's and ESDIS' portfolio-level objectives.

• Directly oversee and prioritize the work of the UX Development and UX System Operations teams to meet sprint goals and ensure system reliability.

• Own and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and escalate degradation events to I&A leadership.

• Provide critical inputs to support cost model planning and resource allocation.

• Work with the Systems Architect and Systems Engineer to distill broader architectural principles into actionable UX system-level requirements and features.

• Monitor system metrics and oversee operational reporting to ensure the Dashboard remains stable and secure.

• Ensure recurring success in meeting in-place Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the Dashboard and UX environment.

• Act as the final gatekeeper for the promotion of code changes into production environments.

• Collaborate with UX development teams and quality assurance to ensure the Dashboard product meets functional and quality expectations.

Job Requirements

• 5+ years' experience serving as Product Owner for a cloud-native user experience or dashboard product team

• Proven experience leading technical teams (Dev, Infra, Test, DevOps/CICD) within a complex systems environment

• Demonstrated ability to synthesize requirements from architects and systems engineers into actionable task backlogs

• Experience maintaining operational security standards under formal or informal Service Level Agreements

• Expert understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and production deployment workflows

• Demonstrated ability to track system metrics and provide data-driven inputs for cost modeling and resource planning
