What You'll Do

The Office of Budget and Management (OBM) is seeking a highly analytical, collaborative, and solutions-oriented Data Analytics Specialist to support the agency's data, performance, and evaluation initiatives.

This role serves as a key analytical partner within OBM, helping advance agency priorities through the strategic use of data and evidence-based analysis. The ideal candidate will transform complex data into actionable insights that support budgeting, policy, and operational decisions.

  • Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and presentations that communicate complex findings, tell compelling data-driven stories, and present information in a clear and accessible manner for executive leaders, policymakers, and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain documentation for data sources, business rules, analytical methodologies, and reporting processes to improve transparency, consistency, and continuity across OBM's analytics operations.
  • Support Ohio's Results Focused Budgeting efforts by helping develop performance measures, analyze outcomes, assess evidence, and provide analytical support for strategic resource allocation decisions.
  • Contribute to OBM's enterprise data governance program by supporting data stewardship activities, participating in governance initiatives, coordinating responses to data requests, and promoting best practices for data management, privacy, and security.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and data literacy by sharing analytical knowledge, providing guidance to stakeholders, and staying current on emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
