Senior Construction Manager (Multiple Positions)

Senior Construction Manager (Multiple Positions), Ann Arbor, MI. Participate in the design development process and coordinate the work of design engineers or facilitate the construction contractor's review of design deliverables. Assist owner with project delivery method selection and support owner throughout the solicitation process. Review submittals for conformance with the requirements of the collaborative delivery agreement, as well as quality, sound engineering practice, and technical standards. Help the owner ensure that formal design reviews are completed such as constructability review, operations and maintenance, and value engineering. Evaluate and provide the owner with feedback on the contractor's self-performance requests and work packaging plans. Assist the owner in evaluating and negotiating Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) or other proposals for construction. Monitor and report on construction status to owner such as cost, scope, schedule, and other relevant information for water/wastewater engineering projects. Observe the contractor's work and ensure various verification activities are completed to assure compliance with codes, plans, specifications, standards, and contract compliance. Support the owner's review of contractor requests for substantial and final completion. REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and 10 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 10 years of experience with the following: Managing construction and engineering projects for water/wastewater facilities; and Design reviews, constructability reviews, and value engineering. Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience with the following: Project management of contracts worth at least $50M; and Design development and coordination of engineers and contractors during all phases of construction deliverables. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience with the following: Using Construction Management at-Risk (CMAR) and Design Build project delivery methods. Must have an active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days a week. Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 50%.
